Deleted wrong ssid list from networker
While trying to free up space on my Data Domain, I deleted the wrong ssid/cloneid list which also deleted the saveset IDs for the monthly tapes. I didn't want to remove the ssid information for the tapes This is the command I used: for i in `cat deletelist.csv`; do nsrmm -dy -S $i; done
I have the deletelist.csv file. Is there a way to restore all those SSIDs to Networker. Note that I'm not trying to recover the data, I just need to
restore the ssid information to Networker.
Networker 8.0.1 on Linux

As you deleted the SSIDs from the media index, the only chance is to scan the appropriate tapes.
As long as you have nor relabeled them, there should not be any problems.
For the next time do not forget to specify the CloneID as well.

It's not too serious, because the monthlies for this particular server are on a pool of 20 tapes. I can narrow to several tapes by looking at what dates for other servers are on the tape. But I don't like scanning tapes.

Hi Davebest,
You don’t have to scan the whole volume in – you can scan just the savesets you deleted also. This should be quicker, depending on how many savesets you have to recreate?

Thanks for the tip. I'll put that down in my operations manual.
Probably won't need to do a recovery before they expire, but I want to
be ready.

Scanning a save set requires that the media db can resolve the SSID and convert it to an absolute position on the media.
But if that has been deleted, which is the result once you delete the save set entry from the media db, i do not see how this can be done. This is the reason why you see the mediafile and mediarec attributes in the bootstrap report.
