Different Retention and Level for Single Save Set, Depending on Date

My configuration: NetWorker for Windows Server 7.4.4. Windows 2003 Server R2 SP2 Exchange Module SQL Module NDMP Module Diskbackup Tier 1 and Tier 3 I'm pretty the answer to this question is 'no', but I wonder if somebody has some ideas to workaround this problem. I have one save set that I want to have different retention and levels depending on the date. For instance, on the first day of the quarter I want to run a full backup and have retention set to 5 years. All subsequent backups within the same quarter should be incremental and have two week retention periods. As I understand it, I cannot setup two copies of the client resource with the same save set as this is not allowed by NetWorker. I'm tempted to schedule a task or write an ASM that reconfigures the client resource browse and retention policies on the 1st day of the quarter, then switches them back for subsequent days. But I worry that complexity reduces reliability. Any ideas would be very much appreciated. Thanks. Nic Romero

You can create as many instances (copies) of a client with the same save set as you want as long as they are in different groups. And this is what you should do. Create different instances (copies) of the client with the same save set and assign them the level and schedule that you want. Then place them in different groups and it will work nice and easy.
