EMC EBR and retention for manual backups
We are running EMC EBR 5.1.0-7.0.60-11_1.2.269. So far, it has worked well in my tests.
During our tests, we created a "test" policy that had a retention of 6 months (and incrementals forever). In our testing phase, I would manually edit the policy and change the VM selection in the "Backup" tab.
When running backups manually, will the 6 months retention still be valid? I only ask since a couple of backups seem to disappear after a month.
Also, is there any way to export the "Reports" tab information to a file?
Just to clarify, the above is only a test (to understand how EBR works). I do plan on defining proper monthly policies for our production backups.

Found out what I was looking for.
In the EMC Networker Administration interface under the Media tab, the information is stored under Save Sets (view VMware Backup Appliance Only). After specifying the time range in the query save set, I can see all the VMs with their retention time in the Save Set List.
Nicolino, thanks again for your help. I'm still familiarizing myself with the Networker interface and terminology.

All the reports on NMC Report tab are exportable by gstclnreport utility on the host where NMC is installed

Thanks Nicolino.
I did try the mminfo command and I see the name as "vm:500791....". Is there a way to display the actual VM name?
Also, the output only shows 13 VMs (in my case) but I know I have manually backed up over 80+ VMs.
The EBR vCenter plugin shows all my manual backups but does not show any retention information. Perhaps there are CLI commands I can run on the EBR appliance itself?
Anyways, I'll investigate the mminfo command and see if I can display all my VMs. I'll also investigate the gstclnreport command.
