error message: "read open error: The system cannot find the file specified.

Getting the following message while trying to label tapes. I know we have a driver mis-match issue (read the below post on cloning issue) but this is new. Any idea what this is, or what file it's complaining about not finding?

It is looking for the device driver file.

This error comes in when the drive is not poreply configured on the OS or the device path name selected in NW configuration is not valid.

I agree. This is the OS message which you get usually when accessing configured device which is not there.

Hi,

This message is seen in Networker. Mostly if you have mis-configured devices then this message is seen. If your setup has tape library & multiple drives, then there may be chance that your device mapping at OS side might have changed & old working configuration in your networker server becomes invalid. So check for the device listing at OS end first & check if you have configured appropriately in the networker server.
