Error recieved on running mt command on a storage node.
HI All,
We are using Data Domain VTL DD880 as our library.
Funny thing is that on th NMC we are able to see a tape in a drive which show messsage as "ready for writting idle" but no writting is going on.
Upon runnning mt -f \\.\Tape2147483632 status on the storage node we are getting the following error.
\\.\Tape2147483632: Format message failed (Error=0), Original Error Code=32
Other drives are responding well .
We paused the backup and again refired it so that it gets directed to a different drive but there also the case is the same.
Can Some1 suggest is it a problem with the client and what can be done?
Any pointers for the resolution would be great.
Thanks in advance.

The error code you get is "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.". This could be either driver issue or permission issue for example. As you use persistant binding name for device name, are you using MS or IBM drivers?
