It does not matter what tape it is... as NW will assign media type for volume based on media type of device.

Anyway, by default you can't mount volume which is not in media database so you must use no mount option... something like:

nsrjb -j -ln -S -f device

Hi,

You’ve run into a situation where your media database is out of sync.  It is best to contact Support so they can guide you through correcting this issue.

Your problem is quite simple.  Old record knows this tape as media type being LTO2.  Now, I assume drives are LTO4, thus it tries to update mdb with LTO4, but there is obviously a conflict.  You can easily get resolve this by deleting old entry in mdb completely and by scanning whole tape all over again.

Well,if you don't know it might be better for someone to guide you or do it for you (like support).  If you're feeling lucky, khm, then you need to check following:

- is the saveset you wish to scan only on that tape?

- do I really want to do this on my onw?

If both answers are yes, it's pretty easy.  From backup server delete volume either from GUI (both index and mdb entries) or CLI using nsrm -d

The just scan it and that's it.

Someone may jump in, and I would not blame it for that, and ask would't be easier to temporary create device as LTO2 and then just scan it?  The answer is probably yes as if you do not have experience above deletion might give headache later for all those saveset which will continue on other tapes or they span to this one.

So, as long as you know what you are doing and how to cope with that - it's fine.  If not, just let support handle it.

In GUI there is also option Load Without Mount (right click on volume in library and you will see it).

Now is all ok.

I have reindex the tape and the saveset is browsable.

Thanks for your collaboration.

Best regards
