Exchange Server 2007 Recovery Question
Hello,
I have on question regarding the NM for Exchange 5.1 Administrator Guide:
For the recovery there is stated one option which isn't clear for me:
"Include only logs from this restore ¿ Select this option to
restore the data to its state during the backup. If this option is
selected, the Exchange server replays only the restored log
files. Log files created after the backup are not replayed.
If this option is not selected, the Exchange server replays all
recovered log files, and then replays any log files created after
the backup. This minimizes the loss of transactions occurring
after the backup."
This means that the Logfiles which are also found on the server will be replayed?
Thanks for clarifying.
best regards
Manfred

Yes. If you want to have the data as it was just after the backup, mark that option., If you want to recover the data from backup time and then apply all the logs that are in the system, leave it unmarked.
