You are trying to take backup of online SQL databases without the Online module.

Use the online module or Open File Manager.

SQL module is not related to these failures as it fails for whole machine (something get's backed up on next retry).

First thought is that service is running under user which doesn't have correct permissions. Go to that box and start save from cmd for everything (you can use GUI). If you want to use cmd line there is not need to use save as built when running from server - following should be enough:
save -s ses-backup1 -l full

If you want to force certain pool use -b before saveset definition.

If that works add user you used to make such backup to remote user and password field in client definition and try server side backup again. Also check event logs for any information there. It might be also a bug as 7.2 was initial release so you may try 7.2.2 on client too.

Also check daemon.log on both server and client for any additional input.

Well case solved. I went to pull out the messages from the event log:

Faulting application save.exe, version 7.2.0.0, faulting module libnsr.dll, version 7.2.0.0, fault address 0x0001fba2.

Just for kicks, I did a search in this forum for "libnsr.dll" and ran into this thread:

Hrvoje Crvelin's final post in this thread about Linux data getting into the index triggered a light bulb! SES-PVCS used to be a linux server that we had to switch over to Win2003 because the linux version of Serena PVCS was giving us many issues. Even though I had deleted the client entry for SES-PVCS out of Networker many times and recreated it, I never actually cleaned out the the /nsr/indexes/ses-pvcs directory, which gets left behind even after you delete it out of Networker!

After deleting the client out of Networker, removing the client indexes out of /nsr/indexes and recreating the client, everything works perfect again!!!

I guess I left out the part that this used to be a Linux box , but I didn't think about it until I saw that post.

Thank you all for your replies!
