"Failed to resolve the IPv6 localhost address ::1. Please verify an entry for the IPv6 localhost address exists in your /etc/hosts file. * : Failed with error(s) "

I am getting below error in various clients from last week and all the backups failing.can someone answer on this?seems like known issue.

 

"Failed to resolve the IPv6 localhost address ::1. Please verify an entry for the IPv6 localhost address exists in your /etc/hosts file. * : Failed with error(s) "

 

IPV6 not enabled in any of the clients.

Hi Prajith,

    . no "::1" entry in host files.

Try commenting or removing "::1" entry in client /etc/hosts file.

That's what is missing. If you don't use IPv6, then simply disable it at OS level.
