How NetWorker recognize DD Boost device that the volume was replicated (CCR) from different Networker server
Has anyone done the similar ? and wouldn't mind to share your knowledge, I believe this is a workable approach, think about if the true disaster happened, and before get into restore situation, NetWorker server must be rebuild first, but if already exist a NetWorker server, this would be a much quicker way.

I am thinking create the same device path, and scan the device. From Networker device management, don't see the feature to re-scan the device.
Think this way, NetWorker need to re-build from scratch (install and configure, but not recovered from bootstrap backup), and what would happen to the data on the volume (dd boost device)? I can see there should be a way to recover it.

No it would not. Because server knows what is in its DB - and you can't merge old DB with existing one - you can only overwrite it. However, if you decide to go longer path and use existing server, then you must recreate devices (use same device path) and scan those.

Nothing would happen to data - you just have to use same device access information. It is device access information that makes sure you are using same device (of course, it will contain name of the old server, but that's something you should be not bothered with).
