Polices are applied for a defined instance of client. You can check what retention and browse policy are applied for a specific savesets:

mminfo -c client_name -otR -r'name,ssbrowse(32),ssretent(32)'

you can also use nsradmin:
start nsradmin command and then:
. type:nsr client;name:client_name
show name;browse policy;retention policy
print

nsradmin command shows you only the names of polices, but usually there are very helpfull (1 month, 2 years etc.)
