Is NMC v3.4 much different from v3.1 ?

According to EMC support, the Installation & User's Guide for NMC v3.4 is v3.1 PDFs ... our current NMC v3.1 runs on Win2K3.

I have nothing to show our Operators what to expect when we upgrade to v3.4 ... so can anyone tell me if there is any/much difference between the two revs ?

Well, from that point of view NMC didn't change much. It shows what NW has and from that point of view this is more knowing what is new in NW than in NMC. In NMC new are some additional reports and that's about it. Some layouts did change, but not that someone would be lost now - actually it would be pleased.

You should look in the Release Notes for the Nw version you're going to install.

NMC 3.4 comes with Nw 7.4 SP2, right? In this release note, the only new thing I could find is that NMC now supports JRE 1.6

Of course, you might find new things in NMC versions that came with other NW versions, like 7.3 SP4. Anyway, 7.4 SP2 release notes has all new features since 7.4 was released, it's your best place to look in.

Daniel ... thanks but maybe I wasn't clear enough. One of our Operators was timid about having to use NMC v3.4 without previewing any of the GUI & its functionality before the NW 7.4 upgrade.

What gets me is EMC puts out the new version (3.4) and effectively pushes everyone off the "cliff" without providing some up-to-date documentation. They could have at least done a change-all v3.1 to v3.4 command to make it look like they cared. I'm not worried about navigating through the screen since we've been using NMC for years but the Operators have a tendency to dwell on the unknown.

I was hoping someone would say it hasn't changed much except for .......

Oh ... also on p29 of the NW7.4 Release Notes ... it does talk about three enhancements but they won't be supported in releases earlier than v7.4.
