I could find the Jobsdb retention is marked under server properties. How the backup of Jobsdb is happening? do we need to configure JOBSDB saveset seperately like NMC saveset?
Yes it will. But again the restart is governed by the "Restart Window" parameter set up on the group properties. But yes, if jobsdb is renamed (which needs services to be down) then the status if lost.
jobsdb, as the name suggests is a temporary database which hold the state and information of all the currently running and recently completed jobs. This where the monitoring tab on the NMC pulls the information as to the success, failure or progress of the backups. The retention setting on the servers properties is to set a purging of this database as we dont want it to grow too large with old data. This is no way helpful to you in recovering a backup database as for that ll you need is the nsrdb and mm.
Also, you are not enabling jobsdb under server properties. You are enabling purging of jobsdb, as jobsdb is an integral part of the a running networker server. If you rename it a new folder will be created.
