Or maybe I am wrong? The file is a file type device and you want to know if moving it will cause you to lose your data? If you first unmount it in the Networker GUI you will be able to move it. However, perhaps you should look at whether you feel backing data up to the same disk where the original data resides is a sensible data protection policy... It might be that you backup to the disk and then stage off, however if you are reading and writing to the disk simultaneously then reading again it is not going to do much good for your server's performance.
