License issue following upgrade

Upgraded from Networker 7.3 to Networker 7.3.2 Update1 and now all of the licenses have gone into grace mode.

Licenses were all fully enabled before.

Legato support do not seem to know why....

Anyone else seen this?

I didn't see that one, but I would suggest to check against which hostid your licenses were given and which is current hostid.

Hostids are all the same.

In that case you will probably need to stop NW, remove licenses with nsradmin, start it up and add licenses back. But you may wish to wait for support to tell you that with exact steps. I guess you already tried to restart whole backup server and that did not bring any changes?

Thanks.

Have restarted Networker several times. Have tried removing and adding license back in but no joy.

Still waiting to hear back from Legato.

While waiting use demo licenses from media kit or ask support to provide it.

Did you try nsradmin to remove licenses and also clear contents of \nsr\tmp before restarting services.

Have you received the Update to Networker License this is for Networker 7.3 going to a a higher level of Networker say 7.3.1 and above.

I might have missed that, but you do not need update enabler when moving between 7.3.x.

We have over 40 licenses. I've tried removing a single license and adding it back in with no success. Likewise clearing \nsr\tmp.

I don't believe there is such a license. We have the Update for 7.3, but again this is also in grace.

You must install "update enabler"

Sorry I've been meaning to reply.

This is a bug in 7.3.2 U1. It's to do with the way nsrd handles cluster licensing.

I've been told to expect a patch.

Petr,

I dont't remember anymore, but are you sure there was update enabler for 7.3->7.3.x? I really can't remember that license or customer having it.

Wylbym,
Has support suggested to make a test with /nsr/res/hostid where you would put inside only your old hostid? (just for test purposes of course)

Aaa, then what I suggested might be a fix for you and most probably same thing is present in certain versions of 7.2.2. Speak with support and ask them if it is worth to test hostid file where you would add composite one at the end of existing ones.

You should have said at the opening of thread that was clustered system :D Then it would be easy to guess what it is.
