Looking for an answer or clue.
(1) An EMC networker customer has a file server with 4 million files and 6 TB of data across 12 LUNs with file system archiving enabled. They are currently backing up the file server using networker Snapimage. The customer has decided to use data domain client direct with 12 savesets for each LUNs. They are recalling archived files to migrate to a NAS solution.
How much memory on the file server is needed for this backup ?

6TB of data is not huge and with client direct doing DSP it might need a little higher memory than a normal client.
Below configuration which is also a Storage node requirement for L size server should be enough for your specification:
1 CPU w/1x6 cores; 3.4GHz, E5-2643v3
RAM16GB
Check the maximum concurrent session depending on the DD Appliance, and remember to create enough devices to run your backups parallel for each savesets without creating a bottleneck.
