Media errors on storage nodes.

When running backups to a storage node or dedicated storage node we sporadically get the error:

NetWorker media: (emergency) failed query for volume 36646967-00000005-0e610cda-47610cda-07f30000-ac1e20c8, authentication type 0 not adequate (1, 13)

Then these error happens no data is sent to the tape.

The Networker server is running WS2K3 x64 and Networker 7.4.
The storage node server i running WS2K3 x64 and Networker 7.4.
The dedicated storage node server is running WS2K3 64bit and Networker 7.4.
The tape libraries are Overland NEO2000 Overland NEO4000.

I just started getting these exat errors. The only thing that clears it is restarting Networker Services. I have a case open with EMC.

It talks of authentication and I would suggest setting Networker Clients/Storage Nodes to the old authentication method using nsrexec -p command line.

Is there any firewall in the environment? Maybe the firewall is cutting down the connection between storage nodes and networker server, usually we recommend to enable keepalive message for all tcp connections are at OS level

Unless this is related to auth model I would suggest to talk to the support.
