Message Waiting for 1 writable volumes when cloning

Regards.
I have configured my savegroups to clone the backups after savegroup completion. It had been working but after we migrate from NetWorker 7.3 to 7.3.1, the automatic clonning didn't run again. After savegroup completion, I'm getting now the message Waiting for 1 writable volumes, and no volume is loaded into devices.

I'm running NetWorker 7.3.1 on Windows 2003, with a STK L700 Library with 8 devices.

We have configured the autochanger with the auto media management option, and also, the pool and the clone pool have the recycle options set.

I have this same issue with multiple customers and I am getting nsrmmd.exe applications errors which indicates to me that there are software issues. I am manually mounting tapes just so that it works until they resolve this issue.

I would contact support as they should be aware of the ongoing issues with staging and 7.3.x.

Issue like had a fix under 7.3, but I didn't try it with 7.3.1. Open up this with support as there might be a fix in case this is known issue.

But, did it happen to you with version 7.3 ?
Because I had 7.3 and it worked fine. It started to fail with the cloning after I updated to 7.3.1

Had similar issues with 7.3 and 7.31 where tapes would not mount to start cloning. The problem turned out to more that 200 savesets were scheduled to be cloned in one group. We got a hot fix (LGTpa90025) to the nsrd.exe executable and we have not had any more issues.

In such case, except applying the patch, manual (scripted) cloning of smaller saveset group sequentially would address the problem. I guess Kenneth could try it out just to see if that is the case or not. Anyhow, opening this with support is obviously what needs to be done.

This morning things got worse, NetWorker wasn't even mounting tapes for backups. So, we have deleted the tmp folder where all the temporary group information is stored, and also we made a reset and an inventory of the library. After that, NetWorker is now mounting tapes as it should.

It might be that you have more than one issue combined together. Support should check your logs and give you a solution.
