Microsoft MOM/SCOM and NetWorker

Hi all,

Our enterprise is migrating to Microsoft SCOM 2007. For monitoring of certain NetWorker events (NetWorker hosted on Windows servers), we were previously checking the descriptions in the windows events using NetIQ AppManager, for such things as "clean.now.*has.been.posted", "no.matching.devices" etc. SCOM does not allow searching on descriptions when configuring events to check for, and as you might already know, the "media" category for NetWorker notifications also includes things like "tape full" and "waiting for", it is not granular enough so we can't just use windows event category and type.

Does anyone know where I can get a SCOM management pack for NetWorker? Does such a thing exist, even in 3rd party form? I have already asked EMC if they have one but I am not sure they understood me correctly.

I know we can always write our own management pack for SCOM, but I am not sure our monitoring team has the expertise to do this yet.

AFAIK EMC does not provide this so you will have to make your own pack (or check if someone else has one eg. on technet forums).
