migrating from Oracle Secure backup to Networker
Hello all,
I'm trying to migrate from Oracle Secure backup to Networker NMDA 3.0 on W2k8 x64. But it fails with this error:
RMAN-03009: failure of allocate command on oem_sbt_backup channel at 10/16/2007 15:26:50
ORA-19554: error allocating device, device type: SBT_TAPE, device name:
ORA-27023: skgfqsbi: media manager protocol error
sbt__rpc_connect: Internal error - could not connect to obproxyd (Oracle Secure Backup error: "timeout on ping/connect (FSP Inter Process Communication functions)")
Do I need to release the SBT_Tapes from the Oracle backup? Any ideas on this? Thanks a lot in advance.

This error is most likely because Oracle is not able to find the SBT_TAPE driver on the system. Just copy orasbt.dll from the /nsr/bin to windows/system32, restart the service and try again. Sometimes it takes a reboot of the Oracle server.
