I don't think issue is with NetWorker here. What is the speed of network interface you use between DD and filer? Also, I'm not sure if there is integration with DDBoost and ndmpd on VNX2 to be honest; I don't use it, but can't remember I have seen this mentioned which would apply that you use regular data connection from VNX2 to DD (in that case, most likely over media server so you need to take into consideration that NIC path as well).
Well, in your first post you said you "are always getting issues with the backups running over a few days" so I assume you get this each time you run backup (1st time I could understand as you are seeding data domain, but not any other after that). So, killing now might have done some magic this time (though I doubt), but I can't see why killing one job would help you with further jobs if this was the case in the past with previous jobs as stated in first post.

i killed the job and restarted the job, seemed to run ok after that. hopefully resolved the issue
