Networker 8.1 success/failure notifications
Hi,
Can anyone advise on whether it is possible to generate separate success/failure notifications on a per-client or per-group basis, with notifications going to different recipients depending on the client name or group membership.
Currently we are using Savegroup Success notification which emails details of all groups to the backup operators - we'd like to send emails to interested parties depending on the clients of a group, e.g. success/failure of Unix systems to Unix administrators, etc.

I don't know about NetWorker 8, but previous versions of NetWorker have the "Owner Notification" field of the client. Simply complete this with your smtp details and the relevant people will find out about the backups. Note that this is per-client, i.e. your DBAs will also receive notification about your filesystem backups and vice versa.
smtpmail -h <> -s "RMAN backup notification" -f networker@my_company.com fred@my-company.com jim@my-company.com

"Owner Notification" is also available to NetWorker 8.1. It's syntax is same as the Savegroup Success notification.
