networker client on Linux
Greetings,
I am running Legato Server 7.2.1 on a windows server.
I am trying to add a Linux Server to my backup but find the documentation way to long. I don't want to read for 3 days to backup one server. I have never really seen backup software this overly complicated.
Is there any documentation source that just tells you how to do stuff, rather then the entire life history of a program.
In the mean time, what is the bullet list of installation requirements?
I have installed lgtoclnt-7.4-1.x86_64.rpm Is that okay considering my server is 7.2.1?
Can someone give me the cliff notes on how to add a linux server to the backup?
Thanks,
Vince

BTW: If you are now aware already, you will also need a Linux Client Pack license for the Linux client.

So, install client package on Linux box first. Then create client on server, select policy you wish and place it group. Further configuration may or may not involve pool selection.
Administrator guide explains very simply what to do (see chapter called Backing up data).

client pack for Unix, does that not cover me?
ClientPak for Unix only covers UNIX, for linux you need to have a clientpak for Linux
version of the client to a server that is running 7.2?
I think it is possible but definetely not recommended. Why would you need such a config.?
