Networker Eventlog Entry

Environment: Windows Server std 2003 SP2; Networker 7.3.2 Build399; Exchange 3003 Enterprise; Exchange Module 4.0

We have been getting these error messages on several of our Exchange servers for quite some time. It doesn't seem to be happening during backups themselves, but rather outside of the backup window. Any ideas?

KB search results:

Cause: The Exchange Module was unable to establish a connection to the Windows Performance Monitor to provide counters.
Fix: Open the Performance Monitor, then and close the Performance Monitor perfmon. Run the scheduled backups, and launch monitor with the Event Viewer

Cause: This error came from calling xchperf.dll, the NetWorker module for Exchange backup performance counter(xchperf.dll). Either xchperf.dll has been deleted or registry information is incorrect.

Fix: If the performance monitor counters are not required then simply remove the following registry key:
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\NsrXch\Performance
or
- Uninstall the NetWorker Module for Exchange
- Remove the registry key indicated above
- Reinstall the NetWorker Module for Exchange
