Networker Legato backup Version 7.4 have character count limitations
We are encountering a problem where we have a Unix Server that has a ridiculous amount of Sub Directories. From the root down I guess there are about 30 plus Sub Directories. We only seem to be successfully backing up somewhere around 20 of the Sub Directories, after which we are not backing the Sub Directories up at all?
The question is does Networker Legato backup Version 7.4 character count limitations, we know/believe there is a limitation, but would like to know what that limitation is set at.
Your Help in resolving this problem is appreciated.
Thanks.

What you say is what I believe to be correct - software supports a full filepath length limit of 1,024 bytes (standard for most operating systems).
Thanks very much for your reply, although we are curious and interested to know if anyone else believes they backup anything that exceeds 1,024 bytes, and go deeper than the amount of directories already referred to 40 plus?
Again Thanks to all who have replied so far, much appreciated.
