Ottov,

I am not sure if your saying there has been no change or there was a change in IP address or name. If any of these have changed then the hostid of the NetWorker server would change and this would trigger what you see as it looks to the software like you have changed the hardware it runs on.

You can re-authorise the licenses by supplying the new hostid and the base enabler via the Web - you will then receive a PDF document with the new authorisation codes which you can input to keep the software running going forward.

Either way it would seem there is something within your environment which is changing the hostid and each time you do this you will see this reported.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Bill Mason

Ottov,

There is definitely something weird here as if licenses go back to eval you usually only have 45 days to correct this before the software would atop working altogether and it would seem you had nearly 3 times this time? Also to reuse the same auth codes suggests the hostid has either changed back or did not change (so why would the auth codes disappear or stop working)?

I would note the hostid as is now and also ensure you have historical daemon.raw/.log files available as you should be able to trace similar event from these but only when it happened not who or what changed any settings.

Hi

I totally agree I have never experienced anything like this before and I have dealt with many Networker Installations.

There was no change in the Hostid. It was the same as before (As when codes originally were issued).

But thanks for the help.

Hi Bill

thanks for the answer.

I am sorry but this was a typo.

There have no changes been made to the enviroment (as far as I know).

No Host change

No IP address change

As matter of fact the Networker server has been running for 202 days but the change in Athorised to Eval happened within the last 140 days.

This is very strange. The only thing I did I typed in the Auth codes to get authorised again.

I tried looking at the rap log but ufortunately that did not get turned on for the last time this happened.

I have however recomended an upgrade of the Networker server to 7.6.3 or 8.0.

I believe in the past there has been a version which did have issue like this, but which one escapes my memory bank. Since it was quite some time ago and as you mentioned that you habve 7.5.1 - well, perhaps you just hit the jackpot. I would simply update the server and if it would happen again I would request licensing to exchange licenses who do these things for new ones.

Hi Hrvoje

I thought it could be the case. Anyways it is good to update to newer release. I will recommend a Hardware replacement as well so all is going to be new.

It was all the licences that got reset to eval, everything in the Networker.

Thanks for the help.
