Networker, VMware, DD, and Clone-Controlled Replication

I am struggling to find the right documentation to answer a question about Networker for VMware using DD and Clone-Controlled Replication.

If C-C Replication is used to replicated an image-level backup of a VM to a DD in the D/R site, can those cloned/replicated backup images be recovered in the D/R site?  Assuming the answer is Yes, but, how easily, and by using what method?  Where is this documented???

Also, my client would like to be able to create backup job clones on his Data Domain, and then lock them down using Data Domain's file locking API's (enabled with the Compliance licensing).

Can somebody tell me how this might work within the VMware image-level backup context, and if it's well-documented somewhere?
