i) The NetWorker Server is renamed from BKserver to BKserver.domain.com
ii) If you go to Devices > Storage Nodes > you will see BKserver is listed as a Storage Node (Not extBKserver.domain.com)
As a result, the Backup server BKserver.domain.com cannot send the data to Storage Node BKserver
I know BKserver.domain.com is already configured as an alias for BKserver, but for NetWorker they are 2 different hosts.
The solution is:
1- Make a copy of ..\nsr\res\nsrdb 2- Open NMC > Devices > Storage Node > Delete BKserver and all the Libraries and Drives listed underneath it. 3- Scan for new Devices. Now you should see the new Storage Node name matches the NetWorker Server name of BKserver.domain.com 4- Reconfigure the Library.
Now NetWorker will mount the Tapes and you will no longer see the error (no matching devices: check storage nodes, devices or pools)
Please engage EMC Support before you delete the DataDomain devices.
By design networker do not backup bootstrap or index on remote device (storage node device) you have two options:
1.Create boost devise on secondary data domain which will be managed from backup server and add in to the relevant pool ,change the storage node section at the client config to only have the two storage nodes that are performing the backup .In that case only index and bootstrap save sets will be backup on the local device (on backup server)and the rest save sets with actual data will still go to the devices on storage node…it is not the designed way but this is how you can fool the networker.
2.Second way is to create a group with all the clients that are backuped (beside to the existing groups ) and check the Index only box in group details ,after wards check in the rest of the groups no index box. Then you create a pool for indexes an configure a new device for it also local-device managed (seen by) backup server and not the storage node. (this is the way that EMC recommend-I do not like it ).
Hope it helps you, feel free to ask if something is not understandable.

Hi,
The issue is described in esg116240, for example:

ii) If you go to Devices > Storage Nodes > you will see BKserver is listed as a Storage Node (Not extBKserver.domain.com)
As a result, the Backup server BKserver.domain.com cannot send the data to Storage Node BKserver
