Networker+Data Domain+2 Strorage Nodes problem
There is 2 IT location in my bank. I have Networker Server 7.6.4 and Data Domain on primary location. On secundary location I have Storage node and other Data Domain. I backup servers from primary location using primary Storage node and data domain where is created DDBOOST and connected it with Networker server and primary Storage node. There is no problem with that backup. On secondary location DDBOOSt is created on secundary Data domain and it is connected on secundary Storage node. Idea is to backup servers from secondary location to storage on DDBOOST on secondary Data domain usin secondary Storage node. When I start backup there is message:
racun03:index 1 retry attempted
No full backups of this save set were found in the media database; performing a full backup
racun03:index 39077:save: error, no matching devices for save of client `networkertest'; check storage nodes, devices or pools
racun03:index
racun03:index 5777:save: Cannot open save session with networkertest
: Failed with error(s)
There is a problem with backup of Indexes and Bootstrap. They cannot be backup on secondary Storage node. I create pool for Index an bootstrap on primary Storage node, but there is a same message. Is there any solution?

Hi,
The issue is described in esg116240, for example:
i) The NetWorker Server is renamed from BKserver to BKserver.domain.com
ii) If you go to Devices > Storage Nodes > you will see BKserver is listed as a Storage Node (Not extBKserver.domain.com)
As a result, the Backup server BKserver.domain.com cannot send the data to Storage Node BKserver
I know BKserver.domain.com is already configured as an alias for BKserver, but for NetWorker they are 2 different hosts.
The solution is:
1- Make a copy of ..\nsr\res\nsrdb
2- Open NMC > Devices > Storage Node > Delete BKserver and all the Libraries and Drives listed underneath it.
3- Scan for new Devices. Now you should see the new Storage Node name matches the NetWorker Server name of BKserver.domain.com
4- Reconfigure the Library.
Now NetWorker will mount the Tapes and you will no longer see the error (no matching devices: check storage nodes, devices or pools)
Please engage EMC Support before you delete the DataDomain devices.
Regards,
Mustafa

Hello ,
By design networker do not backup bootstrap or index on remote device (storage node device) you have two options:
Hope it helps you, feel free to ask if something is not understandable.
