NMM 8.2.1 slow performance SQL-LOG backup

Hi,

I have an SQL cluster (Windows Server 2008, SQL 2005) with NMM 8.2.1 installed. This cluster has 7 instances, and one of them has more than 600 databases.

Backing up Databases in that instance performance is correct, but when I try to launch LOG database, it takes more than 2 hours. If I make an SQL backup to disk, it takes only 7 minutes. The thing is that other instances backups (database and logs) are ok...

¿Does anyone know how can I improve performance?

Thanks a lot in advance

CLIENT CONFIGURATION

Backup command: nsrsqlsv

Saveset: MSSQL:

This instance is the only one in the group, all other instances are in another group.

Let me guess - you have mutex wait issue   As workaround, you can try to use 3.0.1.3.  I do not know what exactly triggers this as I have virtually identical SQL servers where one has this and second one doesn't.  I have seen it on both 2k8 and 2k12 SQL version so... Anyway, I was told by 3rd party support this was supposed to be fixed in NMM with build number 774 (which corresponds to NMM 8.2.1.3), but I haven't seen that version available and I didn't receive the patch yet. There is at least one KB article discussing this issue claiming fix exists - your best bet is to open support ticket.

I received today the patch... so I plan to test it.

Binary I received certainly does not fix the issue (but by the look of it, I'm not sure if that was hotfix as it felt more like some sort of debug binary).
