NMM SQL backup
Hi All,
I'm trying to get NMM to work with SQL 2005 but getting an error.
I performed Config Checker and received Fail in SQL section:
SQL_AVAILABILITY - Microsoft SQL Server is not installed in the machine
But SQL server is installed and works fine.
Any thoughts?
Many thanks in advance!

Could it be that user you run this check with does not have enough privileges to attach to SQL server?

Hi Hrvoje,
Thanks for your reply!
No, it doesn't seems so - I used local Adm account for these tests and SQL server works with Windows authentication as well.

OK, back to the first post - do you get error with checker only or with NMM itself when trying to connect to SQL instance? Did you previously use NMSQL where this worked?

The problem is that NMM SQL backups on this server completed with failure.
The error message is:

What version of NMM are you using? And back to the question about the checker, did you run the config checker to validate your environment prior to the installation? I

Hi Hrvoje,
I'm using NMM v. 2.3.2 and it has MS SQL module.
At least it works fine on my another server with similar config (the difference between these two is only in SQL version: 2005 vs 2008).
OK, thanks for your advice, I will try version 2.4.
Hope it will help!

It looks like you are using previous version of NMM without NMSQL integrated. I would suggest to start with NMSQL alone first (5.2SP2). In recent version of NMM (2.4), NMSQL is included and it would be my weapon of choice against SQL backup.

Hi Deannajh,
I'm using NMM version 2.3.2 x64.
No, I didn't run the config checker prior to the installation on this server.
