I did few times in the past with Solaris 7 and 8. Not sure how good it is with recent Solaris versions. I suspect that product won't last long with introduction of Indigo Stone to EMC portfolio.

But that seems an independent product not as a module to Networker. How would they position that as another backup solution from EMC with NRM for Windows, Unix & Linux (developing one for that in 2 months)

Just wait for few months and you will see it integrated probably. I guess with 7.5 and 8 coming will see integration of Avamar and other recently bought companies into single monster backup package and those products will still exist as independent modules for other backup applications.

What a comprehensive & robust product it would be? I wonder if each customer would be able to use all features.

No idea. Indigo is last acquisition and it remains to see the level of integration they will do with existing products. EMC did say this was something they were missing in their portfolio and thus they were closing the gap. I didn't have experience with Indigo before so I can't say how good it is.
