nsrinfo command

Recently I ran an archive and needed a print out of all the files that were backed up. However, when I use the nsrinfo command, I get nothing except for the error message below. For backups, I can use the mminfo command to ensure the date and time I have are correct, however these archive tapes do not show with mminfo. Is there a way to print out the contents of an archive or the files that are on a tape?

nsrinfo ¿t ¿6/5/07 8:55:53 AM¿ server

I know that the nsrinfo command has worked in the past.

error message:

usage: nsrinfo [-vV] [-s server | -L] [-n namespace] [-N filename] [-t time] [-X
application] [-x exportspec] client

I have tried running this command while in different directories, all to no avail. Any help that can be given would be great. Thank you.

I did indeed use the Indexed archive option but still cannot use the nsrinfo command. The -n option doesn't work with the nsrinfo command either. Any other ideas how to get the file listing of what is on a tape? The follow message is what I get when I put in the nsrinfo -n archive servername

scanning client `servername' for all savetimes from the archive namespace
0 objects found

Thank you for all of your help

To have it in index (thus to use nsrinfo) make sure you used indexed archive.

The error you get is probably because time value is not according to what should be on your system. Have mminfo and check what is the nsavetime for ssid and use that as argument for nsrinfo query.

Try what I have said with nsavetime.

I The only problem I see here may be the date/time format. If you run nsrinfo without specifying the "-t" option, which is the format you receive in the output?

Also, if you don't have too many archives, you could use only "-n archive" instead of "-t", and list all the archives you have for that client.

PS: This thread is in the wrong category :)

Ok, I got it. I ran the command: mminfo -vV -N saveset > file.txt to get the savetime. Then I ran the command "nsrinfo -t savetime servername" to get the file listing. Thank you for all of your help!
