As far as I know those two are not the same. One is AMD and the other is Intel and they probably use different instructions even they should be after same thing. I believe Oracle module exists for each of those architectures which leads me to believe that in that case client should exist too. If not then either it is not supported or tested. You should ask your support to check it out with EMC, but somehow I'm pessimistic.

If I try to download Networker 7.3.2 from powerlink, AMD64 and EM64T have the same NW packets for Linux or Windows. However for Solaris only AMD64 is indicated (that means that EM64T is not suitable for installing?). That is very confusing.

Actually, compatibility guide shows "AMD64 (x86 64-bit only)" which is not very clear if this x86 64bit means EM64T.
Also, I have tested the binaries NW server for AMD in a test server (EM64T), and it works. But in order to put it under production environment I would like to be sure that it is currently certified and supported.
I will ask to EMC support.

They do? I never really noticed that, but in that case it might work. However not having that on compatibility guide means no support if something goes wrong and for backup server machine I would never play with that.

In theory AMD64 and EM64T should be the same - one by AMD and second one by Intel. If they are really the same then you should not worry as if it works on one platform it will work on second one too. However, according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EM64T there are differences too so you better check it out with support what exactly do they support and if any difference does affect calls they use in product.
