Old Version Error
This is coming when I'm trying to install the software on some of my clients ..
An older version of the NetWorker software is installed. Please remove the installed version and run setup again
And thise clients have never seen the NetWorker software before, so i can't see what it's complaining about, there is no other software from EMC so i don't get it .. i have tryed to search for a switch to force the install, but haven't been able to find one ..
Hope someone have a solution on this ..

When you perform a NW install/upgrade and if an older version exist NW should give you the option to Remove the existing version. Have you tried to follow the prompt and complete the Remove regardless? and see what NW comes up with.

I would, just to be sure, search the registry for nsr, NetWorker, legato etc, and also the upgrade codes 2827A1B508153.D114831000A9C877BD1 and/or 3EB2C626C9BC4D118811000972CCA7DF. These are steps in esg67621, that you can find in the KB.
As we're talking about Windows, a reboot may help
In extreme cases, I would go to update the Windows Installer, may be your case, at least in the W2k machine.

NW: 7.3.3 (7.3 SP3 Build 510)
I have 6 machines that is failing with that error and they are using thise 3 systems above ..
HabibG2 -> Im just installing it from the setup file from the "networker733_win_x86" and it has worked fine on 70+ machines ..
i can't follow the promt because there is no promt beside the error you can see the error here ->
http://img225.imageshack.us/my.php?image=olderversionyr1.jpg
and when i press "Ok" this screen comes ->

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\Eventlog\Application\Networker
and there was a string with the name "C:\ISM\2.20\bin\liblocal.dll" and i looked up the file and that is a file from Legato, but it's from 2004 .. in some of the other folders from C:\ISM\2.20 there is files that have been in use lately..
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Informix\DBMS\9.40\Setup\Directories
In this string the name "C:\ISM\2.20\bin" is precent in a REG_SZ so Informix must be using the files that belong to Legato ?
in the string is there also a REG_SZ that is named C:\NSR (the folder is empty)
else there was nothing on when i searched the words you gave me and the numbers ..

At this point, you should contact EMC support or your Informix support to verify if you can delete those entries in registry (and the files/folders).
Take a look at Services, may the Networker service is still installed.
But if you like to take risks, I would just delete this:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\Eventlog\Application\Networker
And the one about C:\NSR. If it's all you have in registry, this should allow a new installation of the client.
