Possible bug in 7.5.1 ???

Hi All,

I have this error message for some clients:

7198:savefs: path /var by default belongs to client and NOT client !
Searching for NetWorker bin 'pathownerignore' file.
7200:savefs: Default client index for scheduled save will be that of .
7198:savefs: path / by default belongs to client and NOT client !
7200:savefs: Default client index for scheduled save will be that of .
savefs : succeeded.
/appl/local: No such file or directory
/users/xxxx/user1: No such file or directory
/svc/xxxx/pegawlan: No such file or directory
/users/xxxx/user2: No such file or directory
/appl/xxxx/oracle/admin: No such file or directory

I have only one solution for this at the moment. Restart of backup server and all backups are running ok 1 or 2 days. Then some backups failled.
I do not know why is trying to make a backup of with a data from .

DB backups are failling with error message nsrnmo was not found. Of course, nmo is not installed on backup server.

backup server is not a custer. some clients have cluster configuration, but I have same errors for not clustered clients.
Strange is that backups are running ok after restart of backup server...

Is this a clustered backup? And is the backup server part of the cluster?

What is listed in the save set box? And the aliases?

Save set:
/
/var
/appl/local
/users/ /user1
/svc/ /pegawlan
/users/ /user2
/appl/ /oracle/admin

Aliase:

does not have backup interface and we are using DNS for 98% of all clients. Other clients are in backup server's hosts

Can you check your name resolution for this client, I suspect it may be being resolved to the backup server's name

I checked it. It is ok. Otherwise will backup not run ok after restart of backup server (not restart of all server).

Make sure that your client does not have hostname listed for 127.0.0.1 in /etc/hosts. This used to be common for some Linux builds and also caused errors like this.

I checked it there is only localhost on backup server and client.
$ cat /etc/hosts|grep 127.0
127.0.0.1 localhost

It's pity that forum doesn't allow to attach files; that would speed up the things. I would suggest to have your support connect remotely as usually this sort of problem might be resolved quickly after looking around. In the past I have seen this only when something to do with name resolving was not correct (even we should not exclude other possibilities of course).

I am back :)
I will write some clients to hosts on backup server. We will see if these clients will failled after few days or not.

Hi,
probably it was problem with name resolving. I do not have failled backups during 3 days. Thank you for the tip :)

P.S.: old employee from Orchestra Erol Zavidic said Hello to you :)
