problem with worm tapes

Hello, We use Networker 7.3.3 and MSL 6030 library. We insert four WORM tapes into the library for monthly backups. We will change these WORM tapes every month and put them into the safe. Then we labeled these tapes and put them into 'Monthly' pool. When we try to backup data to these WORM tapes, backup of client failed. In log file we see the following message all the time: Waiting for one writable volumes to backup pool 'Monthly' tape on ...... When I tried to label these WORM tapes again, I got the following message: The tapes are write protected. I checked and tapes are not write protected. Are there in Networker some other settings for WORM tapes??? Matej

You can only write once to a WORM tape. It's supposed to be a permanent archive.Write. Once. Read .Many = WORM

It's the tape version of WORM (Write Once Read Many) Optical media which by it's nature can not be re-written to. Tape can be re-written but in WORM Tapes software/hardware is used to make them impossible to be overwritten and re-used.

Depending on the situation they are used for permanent archiving due to legal, business or other concerns.
