Having problem labeling Tape

Hi,

I'm using Networker 7.5 SP1. I have this problem when trying to label the tape or load tape to write. I get this error message;

"Remote system error.Cannot find an available nsrmmd service for operation on device..."

Try restart management server, reboot tape, restart services, still get the same error message.

After get this message I wait for an hour then try to label again now it work. What might be the cause of this problem?

Thank you

Is this on a storage node or the backup server? Did you try deleting the NW tmp files i.e. stop services, delete the contents of \nsr\tmp, start nsrexecd, wait for 2 minutes and start nsrd?

It happened to the device on the storage node.
I will try delete NW tmp files.

I was having basically the same problem on a Red Hat 5.X system running 7.5 SP1. In my case the NW server is all inclusive (client/storage node/server). I was not able to label tapes as well. I did as suggested (by Anuj above), which was removing the contents of the /nsr/tmp directory. I was able to label tapes and complete a successfull backup. I have some more testing to do to ensure all is functional, but at least I was able to complete a backup.
