Networker Server Performance
When running Networker Server with 1 client I can get great performance, (40MBs + ) going to the LTO3 Tape
When I start a second client my performance goes down to 4MBs or less.
Anyone know why this happens?
Doesn't seem to matter which clients, they all can perform fast alone, but crawl when put together.
Any Suggestions would be great.
Thanks
Heath

And, before digging into any backup related issues: have you checked the usual metrics like CPU & Memory/etc? Just check for high CPU, low memory, and high rates of page faults. I'd also look at disk service time, in case the disks are hot/slow on the server.
I'd also check network settings. With older NICs and switches, it's best to disable autonegotiation on both the server NIC and switch, as weird things happen under high traffic load.

This is only happening on my 64 bit servers.
Windows 2003 SP2 64 Bit
Running the Networker 7.4 SP1 64bit client.
If I run them 1 server at a time I get full speed. As soon as I start a second server 32 or 64 the backup speed drops to just a few Kbs.

This last weekend we had to shutdown the entire network for HVAC repair.
After booting up everything from a cold start, Networker is working fine on all client versions.
Chalk this one up to the software gremlins!
