Networker System Recovery Wizard error

Hi,

When trying to perform a Disaster Recovery test using the Networker System Recovery wizard via a bootable CD i'm running in to an error when trying to start the process off (The status part on the steps down the left side of the wizard).

The server is Windows Server 2008 R2 (x64) running 7.6.2.5

The client is Windows Server 2008 R2 (x64) running 7.6.2.5

The error reads:

The restore failed with the following error:

Restore failed with status: 0x80004005. Please see the ossr_director.raw log file for more details

I click ok to this window and am then able to click the view logs button on the results screen which offers recover.log or WinPE_Wizard.log

The recover.log just says that the client is not properly configured on the networker server

Now i've read the DR guide and believe i have followed its requirements but am still receiving this error. What configuration is it implying is missing? The client i'm trying to test restore is still present as a client and its backup was successful inc DR savesets etc.

Can anyone help me out here?

Thanks

Edit: i missed the output from the ossr_director.raw file.

The key parts being below

Recovery process failed with error %d 1 1 3 255

Failed to get the metadata. Terminating the recovery. 0

Hi,

Check with nsrinfo & mminfo to see if the data has been backed up correctly and that the savesets are present

in the NetWorker indexes:

nsrinfo -s [NW server name] -N "DISASTER_RECOVERY:\\" [NW client-name]

mminfo -s [NW server name] -q "client=[NW client name],name=DISASTER_RECOVERY:\\" -ot

If this looks ok when run on the NetWorker server, try running them on the NW client itself.  There could be a

communication problem between the client and server that is preventing it accessing the data it needs in the

NetWorker mediadb or indexes.

Hi Bobby, thanks for your reply, i ran those commands and they were successful from both server and client.

Annoyingly however, the tape i had used to store the backup was removed from site this morning, so to save having to wait for it to be returned (as its only testing) i rebuilt the box manually with a new name and performed the steps required again and this time things have gone smoothly.

Odd that it didnt work previously as i've not done anything different this time around and i'm using the exact same hardware still with nothing changed, so i'm going to be testing this further to ensure its reliable.
