Hi,

The SAN zoning only needs to present the tape library to the NetWorker server and the storage nodes if there are storage nodes in your environment.

The zoning should be configured to present each of the tape devices in separate zones to the servers - this creates multiple single initiator zones and should NOT be configured as one "backup" zone.

So for example if you have 4 tape devices and the robotic interface and a single HBA port on the backup server, this would mean 5 zones created in the SAN. If you have another server on which storage node software is installed and configured and assuming you have dynamic drive shearing then the above 5 zones could become 5+4 = 9.

Hope this helps.

You would need to zone the control port of the library and drives to the backup server. In case you are sharing any of the drives with servers designated as storage nodes, you would need to zone the drives with the designated storage nodes.
