It makes sense to use "nsr_render_log " to get the variables replaced by their proper values. The messages will be much more logical.

Then carefully look at the messages - it is all there. Like:

telsas131rm001.telecomitalia.local nsrsnap_vss_save NSR critical 198 NMM .. nsrsnap_save_topologyfilepaths : nsrsnap_vss_save is running under the security context of user %s. Check if the user is granted dbcreator, public, and sysadmin permissions in the SQL Server. 1 0 6 SYSTEM

telsas131rm001.telecomitalia.local nsrsnap_vss_save NSR critical 87 NMM .. error 0x%x generated while preparing the legacy System State objects for backup. 1 1 11 -2147019873

... and ...

telsas131rm001.telecomitalia.local nsrsnap_vss_save NSR critical 3 %s. 1 0 86 The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation.

Has this run before? - then see what has changed in the interim to make it fail.

Hi Fabio.carloni,

You may want to check the below stuffs in the environment and re-try the backup:-

Step 1. Add the SYSTEM account to SPShellAdmin, type the following command on each web front-end server and the Search server:

Add-SPShellAdmin -UserName DOMAIN\HOSTNAME$

Verify that the SYSTEM account is added to SPShellAdmin by using the command Get-SPShellAdmin and viewing the details in the Object Explorer.

Step 2. In the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio > Security > Login > Login Properties page, grant the SQL Server system dbcreator, public, and system administrator permissions to the Windows login account. Provide these permissions to the NTAUTHORITY\SYSTEM user and the DOMAIN\HOSTNAME$ user on a distributed farm.

Step 3. Grant the SQL Server system dbcreator, public, and system administrator permissions to the Windows login account. Provide these permissions to the NTAUTHORITY\SYSTEM user on a stand-alone farm and to the DOMAIN\HOSTNAME $ user on a distributed farm.

Hope this helps!!

Thanks,

Elango C

Thanks Elanc but the permission are all OK.

I have updated the NMM module and I have installed the release 3.0.1.3 and the logs of the fail are different:

The savegrp log in the NMC gui
