SharePoint, SQL Embedded Edition, Standalone Tape Drives

I'm hoping the experience on the forums can help me with a few questions.. 1) How do you backup SQL 2005 Embedded Edition? I was told by my sales rep and his engineer that the SQL module would handle it, but when I install the SQL client software, it tells me there is no SQL installed on the server. Was my rep wrong? I see that the VSS license supports MSDE, but no mention of SQL 2005 embedded. 2) Our organization is installing a few instances of SharePoint Services 3.0 (the free sharepoint that you can download for Server 2003). Will the SharePoint license back-up this version of SharePoint? The description on EMC's website says it will backup SharePoint Portal (the version that you need to pay for), but again, no mention of SharePoint's smaller brother. 3) We have a few remote offices that have stand-alone tape devices. I want to make them storage nodes but how does NetWorker handle mounting and unmounting tapes? The remote sites do not have any IT staff (plant managers swap tapes daily) so giving someone access to a NetWorker console is out of the question. I tried to get this to work but I can seem to get NetWorker to realize that a new tape has been put in the drive without coordinating a mount/unmount time with the remote person. And like with an auto-loader, I can't 'inventory' the drive like I can currently do now with BackupExec. What am I missing?

I can't comment, but just guess first two so I won't do that

As for third, you or someone else (operator) needs to eject and load tapes and then you manually mount it - that's how it is in standalone world. You use nsrmm command for that (see nsrmm manual for more details - switches and their description).
