Single step VMware recovery with NW 7.5.1

Question

hello, i'm playing around with VMware VCB and NetWorker 7.5.1 integration. there should be a feature calles single step recovery. basically NW client should launch VMware Converter directly. but i get error: 'Could not locate VMware converter software...' VMware Converter is installed to VCB proxy machine where i'm also launching Networker client. my question is how and where does NW client try to find converter software? i have added converter dir to system PATH variable, no changes. what am i missing? regards, kipz

I am getting the same problem, what version of converter have you installed on your vcbproxy host? Did you had any luck?Swang

I would need to check, but converter installed should be standalone version. Not sure right now if this is done on VC machine or proxy, but I believe it was on VC.

One thing to keep in mind is that this is still experimental feature (at least it was) so support is limited.

I had the same issue. EMC needs to do some catchup.

Symptoms

Networker User does not find VMWare Converter.

Cause

Networker 7.5.1 is not compatible with VMWare Converter 4.0 or higher.

Resolution

Remove VMWare Converter 4.0 and install VMWare Converter 3.0.3
