Size being reported during backup

Question

When Networker is backing up a server, if you go to monitoring and then sessions it shows the current state of the backup. Does anyone know why the size being reported is larger than the amount of data being reported on the machine. We have a Ghost server which just contains backup images and nothing else. No-one logs onto this and nothing changes over the weekend. The 'E:' drive is reported, by windows, as having 365GB data on it. Networker is reporting to me that it has currently backed up 373GB! Any ideas why? Is the calculation from bytes to GB incorrect within Networker? Thanks

when you restore to another area, the volume occupied is equal to the original?

Networker will not just back up files, it also backups up the directories those files are in which will add extra entries to what is backed up. However I would not expect this to be 8GB worth of data; Networker may include in the size meta data it writes to the tape?
