SQL and Exchange Question

Forgive me, but I'm fairly new to networker. We are running 7.3.2 jumbo. We backup a couple of sql servers that have a database size of around 600gb. After a full back up, it says it backed up about 65gb. Is this normal? Our exhange has 5 stores in 4 storage groups. The log shows it completed 2 of the stores and finished. The transaction logs are purged for every storage group so I'm sure they are being backed up but why doesn't it report all stores? Thanks for your help.

Have you set it for incremental backup?Check schedules for the same.

Yes. The fulls run Friday night and an incremental for the rest of thte week.

What are you using for the saveset field?

There you go. IF transaction logging is enabled and backup level is Incr., Networker would backup only the transaction logs generated and not the complete database.

It is for this reason that you backup 60 GB and not complete 600 GB. This is normal.

The transaction logs are not being backed up, other wise my backup amount would be over 600gb correct?

I still beleive that it is backing up only transaction logs. The only other possibility is that some databases in your SQL are not properly attached and Networker is skipping them. Otherwise, if it backs up 600 GB, it should not show that it backed up 65 GB.

Are your sure about the backup level and that it shows total size as 65 GB?

Also, are all the databases available for recovery using Networker user for SQL & Exchange with the version date as that of the backup date when it backs up 65 GB?

Have you checked module logs to see what is being reported as backed up?
