storage node config error

I'm getting erros while trying to reset a storage node,I have enabled temp license for library and storage node

nsrjb -HEv -j jukebox2
nsrjb: cannot connect to NSR service on SNODE1
nsrjb: RPC error: Program not registered

If on a storage node, enter the NSR server hostname? [SNODE1]
using 'SNODE1' as the NSR server

nsrjb: cannot connect to NSR service on SNODE1
nsrjb: RPC error: Program not registered

Is snode1 your backup server? I think you shoud run nsrjb -s -HEv on snode1.

No, I even went on to delete the library and try running jbconfig but it does not work.

Are you able to run any other nsrjb -v -s -j with out any switch -just to list library?

The NSR server hostname you enter should be the name of the Networker server, not the storage node.

So if you use the -s option, you need to enter the name of the Networker server.

Sure but since it does not detect the backup server, it comes back to Storage Node only.

I am facing exactly the same error. SNODE1 should be the storage node.

Even when I run save -s backup_server, I get RPC error despite the fact that servers are able to ping each other.

Does it work from GUI then? :D

Can you communicate with nsrd via RPC from storage node? Are nsrmmgd and nsrlpcd running?

That's normal - when running nsrjb cmd you should run it from host controlling robotics. There are ways how to do it from server too (that's how GUI does), but that usually should not be used at all.

nsrjb: SYSTEM error: No such file or directory

As Hrvoje has mentioned you cannot run nsrjb commands from any system other than the System controlling the robotics.....when you run the nsrjb command it uses sji commands to try and locate the robotics locally, which is why the networker server is unable to find the jukebox......also the -s mean 'server', as in the networker server.....not Stor node...

make sure you always use the '-s nsr server' with your networker command lines....
e.g.
nsrjb -s -Iv

if your save command is getting RPC errors even with the nsr server specified, there may be more than 1 issue, you may have networking issues as well.

I have two jukeboxes one SDLTPV136T attached to server and a LTO ML6000 attached to storage node.
Further I have configured a new data and clone pool and restricted this pools to use remote devices(6 LTO drives) Will this ensure that all clients redirected to new storage node will get backed up and cloned with out any issues?

Thank you
Saleesh

Saeesh, this is unrelated to original question so please have separate thread for this question. Storage node decision is primary based on field called - storage node.
