How many libraries do you have? Two would be ideal for such setup as you could share drives from bothj on the same storage node and have SAN cloning.
If one, you can still do the same thing, but you will probably need to script it and pay attention to read hostname filed setting between the clones on different storage nodes.
It is supported but you have to remember that with your source volume on one storage node and your target volume on another storage node (ie the server in this instance) your data will be going across the network during a clone.
