Trying to create VMDK images using 7.62
I'm on 7.62. W2008 R2 64bit. I use a DataDomain with Networker. My proxy machines are setup but when i try to run the job for a full vmdk image backup it gets stuck on
39078:save: RAP error: User adminbackup on computer Janedoe is not on JohnDoe's remote access list
5777:save: Cannot open save session with xxxxx.domain.name
I see the snapshot being created > virtual proxy machine then gets reconfigured with extra HDD > then things get stuck and Networker finally returns the error above. Then the snapshot is deleted and temp directory for C:\MNT is deleted and everything goes to normal again.

Not sure what is what in your setup, but how about trying to address RAP error first and see what happens next?

Thank you Hrvoje thats what i'm here for. I need help with the RAP error. I have no clue where to start troubleshooting that one. I've looked for the user adminbackup on all servers and cant find any trace of it. I use a totally different domain account for backups so im not sure why its calling for adminbackup account.

You can try to ignore puzzle for a moment and add user admin backup to Janedoe's remote access list. If on UNIX (server), you can go to /nsr/res/nsrdb and do grep adminbackup */* and see if anything pops up (before you add it).

That's not really a fix as you just allowed anyone from anywhere to access the data of your client. That was mere workaround to get you going.

This issue was resolved by our EMC support contact. The fix was to put *@* in the "remote access" box under the configuration area on the Globals 2 of 2 tab under Client Properties.

Hi
Try to add *@username in the remote access list and then try a backup.

You mean the other way around? The most restrict would be username@hostname.
