VCB & Networker 7.4.4: no incremental Backup possible

Hello my diggaz,

when I want to do an inremental Backup of a Directory on a VM, networker always tells me:

No full backups of this save set were found in the media database;

although I disabled all da shit mentioned in da README. Aight?

I couldn't find nothing about that problem. Has someone an idea howto resolve dis problem?

Thanks

Thanks 4 UR response, Peda, but it does matter:

Here is an digest from the README:

Backing up all the files for virtual machine winxp-ceci.eng.vmware.com:

VM:winxp-ceci.eng.vmware.com
Backing up C:\Data on buvm01.eng.vmware.com:

VM:buvm01.eng.vmware.com:C\Data
Backing up C:\Documents And Settings and D:\OraData on dbserv.company.com:

VM:dbserv.company.com:C\Documents And Settings:D\OraData
Performing a full VM backup of myvm.company.com:

VM:myvm.company.com:*FULL*

In a previous post from me, U can see, that networker backed up 49MB in Programme, which is the real size of the directory.

I belive it is a problem with the name of saveset:
C\ is not the same as C:\
have you have any other Win host which is backed up and is NOT VM? Check how those backups are represented. On my datazones all Win backups are reported as C:\ not C\.

Do U use VMWare Consolidated Backup on a Windows Storage Node, Peda?

Have you tried to do an incremental backup before the last full backup expired? Or the last full backup is still "active" and any try to do an incremental backup results the way you described?

It doesn't matter. I'm saying that my Win backups (not those made by VSB or from within VM) reports its savesets different way.

Could you please put more than just "No full backups of this save set were found in the media database;" from your logfile? Let's say 10 lines before ant 10 lines after that message.

Have a look at the release notes for 7.4.x version. Have you configured the backup of VMs using VCB just like described in section: "Improved VMware Consolidated Backup support"?

Correct me if I'm wrong: shesxcb01 is your VCB and shads01.ggrz-hagen.nrw.de is your VM which is backed up by VCB?
I'm not sure (regarding the 7.4.4 version) but the backups of VMs should be saved in its own index entries not for VCB. The information you provided shows that those information are saved as VCB proxy backups not individual VMs.
Could you please provide output from:
nsradmin
. type: nsr client;name:shads01.ggrz-hagen.nrw.de
option hidden
print
. type:nsr client;name: shesxcb01
print

You should. VM is now backed up via their guest name.
