What will happen if a vol. Eject/withdraw from Library

What will happen if a vol. Ejected/withdrawn from Library? what will happen to the corresponding space in EDL? & Is there any change needed to be made in EMC EDL after ejecting.

Shehasis,

1. A virtual vault is similar to a physical vault. It is used to store the tapes when they are not required.

2. You can move the volume around in the EDL console and you can assign it to the configured Virtual libraries.

3. If you delete a volume in NetWorker or EDL? if you delete a volume in NetWorker, it will just be removed from the media database and will show up in the library as unlabeled. if you delete it from the EDL it is destroyed.

I would suggest you to go through the EDL administrators guide if you are very new to using an EDL cause any wrong move and it will result in a data loss.

The tapes sit in the vault of the EDL. The space on the EDL is assigned to a tape on its creation and will continue to hold that space until it is deleted. it does not matter if the virtual tape is assigned to the library or the vault.
